Love Is Blind's Milton Johnson Details Lydia Velez Gonzalez Connection
Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez had been the ultimate nerd couple from the moment they bonded over sedimentary rocks in the Love Is Blind pods.
“I think [what] it really simply comes all the way down to is our values had been the same,” Milton, 25, completely instructed Us Weekly ahead of the season 5 premiere of the Netflix courting display. “We had the same morals, we would have liked the same issues out of life. From day one, it simply more or less felt like a hit, just felt like a fit. So, we simply wanted to really pursue that and notice where it would take us.”
Milton and Lydia, 32, immediately connected inside the Houston, Texas, pods because of their similar careers. Lydia is a geologist, which piqued Milton’s hobby as he is employed as an engineer in the oil and effort business and continuously works with rocks.
While Milton used to be smitten from the get-go, Lydia pumped the brakes after learning that that they had a seven-year age gap. At the same time, she was involved in a pod love triangle with Izzy Zapata and Stacy Snyder sooner than Izzy, 31, in the end broke issues off in the first episode.
“Izzy lower me off and it sucks; it’s s—ty [since] he in point of fact didn’t give me a reason, but I know I have to pick up myself rub my back and continue and move on,” Lydia tearfully recalled in a confessional all the way through episode 2.
Moving on meant continuing to pursue her connection with Milton.
“I feel the thing that I liked maximum about Lydia is [that] we’re so similar in a lot of different ways with regards to what trade we paintings in and we’re each born on islands, but relating to our emotional intelligence and being prone, we’re on the complete opposite finish of the spectrum,” Milton defined to Us. “And that’s something I in point of fact value because there’s part of me that understands like, ‘Hey, possibly this is ordinary. Maybe I am somewhat bit too emotionally reserved.’”
Milton confirmed that Lydia is at the “complete reverse finish of that spectrum” in terms of processing her feelings, which fans saw in the second episode all through their “seaside” date when they discussed long run circle of relatives plans.
“I [was once] like, ‘Surely there’s a middle ground that we want to meet.’ So, I believe that in point of fact simply drew me towards her,” he instructed Us earlier this month. “And then after the pods, just like any relationship, there’s paintings [you wish to have to position in to care for the bond].”
